Septage Receiver Systems

Effective septage screening is essential to protect downstream wastewater treatment processes. Septage loads often contain extremely high solids concentrations, including rags, wipes, grit, plastics, and significant amounts of fats, oils, and grease (FOG). Without proper screening, these materials can cause blockages, equipment damage, and increased maintenance costs.
Or-Tec septage receivers are engineered to efficiently remove these materials at the point of discharge, directly from the septage hauling vehicle. Multiple receiver configurations are available to match site-specific requirements and maximize debris capture before the waste stream enters the treatment plant.
Screen Types
Or-Tec offers two primary septage screening technologies:
- Septage Receiver Bar Screens
- Septage Receiver Screw Screens
Each design is optimized for high-solids, high-FOG applications and provides reliable operation under demanding conditions.
Superior Fine Screening Performance
The Or-Tec Septage Receiver is uniquely capable of screening septage with openings as small as 1/8 inch (3 mm) without blinding. This fine screening capability removes a substantial volume of wipes, rags, and plastics that commonly pass through larger-opening screens. By capturing these materials upfront, the system significantly reduces downstream operational issues.
The receiver performs exceptionally well with high-FOG wastes, including grease trap waste and food processing or industrial septage. Even under heavy grease loading, the screen face remains open and continues to operate effectively without clogging.
