Or-Tec has successfully completed the startup and commissioning of a new Xpress-1200 Belt Press at the Utica Wastewater Treatment Plant in Utica, Ohio.

Service technicians Bill Hughes and Fernando Pena completed the startup on July 13, followed by salesmen Alex Halliburton and Tyler Richard who assisted with final commissioning, system optimization, and operator training.

Upon arrival the equipment was found to be in excellent condition after shipment. The service team performed standard pre-operational inspections confirming proper mechanical assembly, alignment, electrical connections, and overall system readiness. After completing the remaining installation tasks and resealing threaded fittings, the Xpress -1200 was started and tuned for reliable operation. The unit responded well to adjustments and demonstrated stable performance throughout testing.

In addition to commissioning, Or-Tec provided hands-on operator training covering belt press operation, automated startup and shutdown procedures, routine operating practices, and system monitoring. Plant personnel also received an introduction to Or-Tec's online support portal for ongoing technical support.

The new Xpress-1200 Belt Press will help the Utica Wastewater Treatment Plan:

• Automate equipment startup, operation, and shutdown
• Produce a consistently dry sludge cake
• Reduce sludge volume
• Lower hauling and disposal expenses
• Reduce overall operating costs

Startup activities concluded with the Xpress-1200 operating normally and plant personnel prepared for routine operation. Or-Tec appreciates the Utica WWTP team and everyone who contributed to the successful completion of this project.
